Avocado Rose Toast

Being someone who is an avocado addict, I love avo-toast. I'll eat it for breakfast or lunch (or both) whenever I have the chance to. I recently found a market that sells avocados super cheap so you can imagine the state of excitement I was in, I bought a decent amount of them, to say the least.
After looking at different avo-toast recipes I came across the avocado rose toast. It's when you make your avocado in the shape of a rose and plop it on a piece of toast, it's almost too pretty to eat.

What you'll need:
One slice of toast
1/2 an avocado
Coconut oil (a great alternative to butter!)
Sea salt

1. The first thing you are going to do is slice your avocado in half and chose a side to use.

2. Slice the avocado short ways, also try and make each slice the same size.

3. Now here is where it gets tricky... take your hands turn the avocado so that the slices fan out and make a long line.

4. Starting from one end, start to curl your avocado slices. Keep curing until you get a rose shape.

5. Toast your bread and spread coconut oil on top then place your rose onto the toast.

6. Sprinkle some lemon juice, salt, and pepper over your toast and enjoy!

Hope you all enjoy this recipe, once you get the hang of making these you wont be able to stop and everyone will be sooo impressed!

I can't wait to find more avocado toast recipes and do some more experimenting in the kitchen.

Music Monday: Spring Break Playlist

Spring break. A break from school, deadlines, and waking up to an alarm clock. This spring break me and my family are headed down to sun Florida. I have been growing up going to Florida, Fort Myers to be specific, and this trip is a bittersweet one since ill be headed off to college next year.
Anyways, one of the most essential things needed for a perfect spring break is a perfect playlist with songs to get you in spring break mode! I have put together a bunch of my favorite tunes that have a fun, summer feel to them.
Check them out on my Spotify here!

Trending: Bandanas

Whenever I think of bandanas I think of cowboys and people wearing them as headbands (which I'm the the biggest fan of). Recently, though, I have been seeing bandanas as a big trend, tied around the neck. I will deffinitly be hopping on this trend, I think they're adorable paired with an off the shoulder top of vintage jean jacket!

Some of my favorite bandanas I've found: HereHere, & Here

Music Monday: I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it

Photo taken at the 1975 concert 12/7/15.

The long awaited day of the 1975's new album is finally here! I honestly didn't know what to expect, their singles that they had been releasing were so different ( more upbeat) then their last album. Yet, when the album was released and I gave it a listen I knew it was just as beautiful as their last album, The 1975. Each song was a little different from one another but in the end they all tied together wonderfully. Right now my favorite songs off I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it are: The Ballad of my Brain, This Must Be My Dream, Paris, and She Lays Down. You can buy the album here, or wait for it to be realized on spotify on March 11th.
Oh, and can we also talk about the albums name, I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it. Is that just not the most beautiful album title you have ever heard?!

Fallen Snow

Turtleneck  // Leggings // Boots  // Coat (Similar) // Hat

I woke up this morning and the ground was bare, no snow to be seen. All of a sudden, in the middle of the day snow started to fall and eventually began to pile upon the ground. I had to make a transition from my lightweight cardigan to a full coat with a couple hours.  This was my go-to outfit, a simple black turtle neck, leggings and a cute hat to cover up my bed head (whoops).

A Mood Board: Yellow

The weather in Ohio has been nothing but a constant mix of snow and rain, along with grey skies that make the days feel so much gloomier. Recently I have been down in a funk because of these dark winter days and have been needing some sunshine. Since I can't just pack up my bags and move to the beach I have been surrounding myself with the color yellow, the color of joy, happiness, and sunshine itself.

If you ever find yourself down in the dumps bring some yellow into your life, the color can instantly brighten your day.

Going Vegan?

I have decided to go vegan. There isn't really a specific reason why I have decided this other than I want to start living a more healthier lifestyle. While searching Pinterest, scrolling through Instagram, and reading other blogs I have seen that being vegan is starting to become more and more popular this day and age! I have decided to give it a try for a month and then go from there. Yesterday was my first day (1/11/16). I went grocery shopping on Friday at whole foods to pick up some staples to start out with such as vegan cheese, almond milk, quinoa, veggies, and vegan ice cream. I'll start posting more vegan related post such as recipes and updates on how I like it.
Wish me luck!
